I am taking a break from riding.
Dada, my teacher and friend, is no longer comfortable with me riding independently. She tried to say it was her fault for getting old or some other nonsense. I know better than anyone that I do not look very graceful when I ride or when I do anything else.
I have to find another sport/exercise/hobby to enjoy. I will certainly write about that here. I do write about life with my disability here. It tends to be a little more raw.
Anyway, thanks, everyone, for the support.

Dear boy.

Dear Matt,
I have to add my comments here...it is not about how any on us looks like (I am far away from nice picture with or without horse :), from my point of view is much more about safety and responsibility which I should take if you ride without safety team close enough...and you wrote right, it is about "independent riding", but your spot at Spirit and in my heart will be always kept for you and we can arrange riding whenever you say that you want to do it...
And I hope that we will not wait for it so long...summer is close by and even if it is not first competitive sport, any more, riding can be a nice way to spend some time with people who like you so much...BTW, same happened to me after 1997, and my last competition, when I recognized that competing is not the best idea for me anymore...so I started to be focused more on teaching...
Same way, your experience might be a great inspiration for someone who will come later and try to ride and compete in Para equestrian....
Best to you and to your family,
Dada
That is too bad that you have to give up on the riding. I only just discovered your blog and just reading it brought some wonderful feeling to me.
Thanks, Kelly. I still am not sure I am over riding. I don't know. Maybe I am on a break.
It is a real shame you have to stop riding!
I have read all your articles for a while now but never commented.
I just hope your next sporting endeavours are as enjoyable!
Thanks, I swim now, which is fun, but I am not competing. I miss that still.
Dear Matt,
I can understand that you like swimming better in this moment, but, I hope that you will come and meet Spirit again at new location at
40685 J Mosby Highway

Saturday, 19th December at 10 AM and if you are ready to ride, just bring your boots and chapses...
There is a best indoor ever for Spirit and it's riders, warm, dry and safe....
Looking forward to seeing you and wish you and your mom and dad very happy Thanksgiving
Dada
23dhespoWhat do you think about driving a one horse wagon type carriage?
Hope to be able to see you soon at the Spirit Field.
Lucinda is still not ready, but we work on it to make her (and myself) feel confident enough to load you or Caroline and have some fun at the Park.
Hug,
Dada
